THE ASTRACHROME SPRAY CHROME SYSTEM - Stage 1.

The work to be “Chromed” is prepared for painting in the traditional way by rubbing down and priming, if required, after which the special base-coat is spray painted on using normal spray painting techniques. The AstraChrome base-coat has been specially formulated to produce the exceptionally high level of gloss, which is essential for producing a high lustre mirror “Chroming”.  Special formulation of the base-coat also ensures adhesion of the sprayed “Chrome” to the base-coat.

The AstraChrome base-coat resin is able to be painted onto a very wide range of substrates including fiberglass, laminates, rotationally moulded resin objects, most common plastics, glass, and metals.   For those difficult materials, such as for instance, ABS plastic, which is often used for car parts, a special primer (which can be supplied by Spray Chrome Solutions Ltd) may be needed.
